Tirupur: A drunk youth from Tirupur took the jeep belonging to police officials who were involved in patrol duty near the Uthukuli Road.
After looting the vehicle, the youth who was drunk crashed onto a truck near the Koolipalayam area as he was unstable from the alcohol he consumed.
People in the nearby areas immediately informed the 108 ambulance service and the doctors gave first aid to the youth who was injured in the accident.Police officials were later informed as the youth was found driving under the influence of alcohol.
Cops on arriving at the location conducted an investigation with the youth and it was revealed that he was Vijay (23) from Thiruvannamalai District. He was then taken for further investigation.
