Hence the district and state election officials are actively working on getting ready for vote counting. All staff involved in the vote counting process will undergo a Covid-19 test tomorrow.
In addition, in case of any election official being affected by Covid-19, a substitute official will be replaced by a deputy election official. This is the same for officials who are counting the votes.
According to election officials, "the officers involved in the counting of votes have been trained about the procedure. Substitute officers will be on duty if any officials tested positive from the sample taken on 29th April. Alternative officers for this situation are already in position. Therefore, under the instructions of the Election Commission, the counting of votes is to be conducted in a proper manner without any confusion." He said.
