Drinking water supply in Valparai disrupted due to breakage of main drinking water pipe
Coimbatore: Valparai in Coimbatore district comprises almost a thousand homes, businesses and hotels. The drinking water supply required for Valparai comes from the Akkamalai grassland area through a natural water flow and stored at a ground level tank for the reservoir in Valparai.
With road widening work underway at Valparai-Nadumalai road, the main drinking water pipe laid on the roadside was broken near the Nadumalai tea estate and thus drinking water supply for the Valparai area had been completely suspended since Tuesday. Valparai residents have been worst-hit and demanded that the municipal administration immediately replace the broken pipe and restore drinking water supply.
