Give me power for 3 months, and I will transform it into a coronavirus free state: Puthiya Tamilagam party leader K Krishnasamy
Coimbatore: Puthiya Tamilagam party leader K Krishnasamy addressed the media in Coimbatore saying, "They held a meeting yesterday at the Sterilite factory with only a few parties in the name of an all-party meeting on oxygen production.
It is condemnable that the Puthiya Tamilagam party was not called upon. Panchayat committees should be set up on behalf of all parties at the state, district and union levels to prevent Coronavirus and to take preventive measures. The infection is increasing day-by-day across the country and as a result, there is a severe shortage of oxygen and medicines, with victims suffering due to lack of proper treatment. I urge the Governor of Tamil Nadu to take up this project so that we can control the pandemic to some extent by setting up monitoring committees at the district and union levels. The public needs to be vigilant as the mutant Coronavirus in India is mostly attacking the youth."

K Krishnasamy added saying, "The three key pointers to control this spread is to make it mandatory for all to wear a face mask, use a hand sanitizer and be vaccinated. Also, the Government should come forward and provide free face masks instead of imposing fines to those who do not wear face masks. The method of imposing fines is not correct. From May 1, a team of 100 members of youth and student body in each Union on behalf of the Puthiya Tamilagam Party will be engaged in awareness work and also provide face masks and disinfectants to the people. Oxygen shortage in Tamil Nadu has not increased so much that we can produce enough oxygen to meet our needs.
The Government should work to produce the oxygen we need in all the steel mills controlled by the Government and medical production should be discontinued. Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi should skip the election campaign meetings and take action to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. We are in a predicament of importing oxygen from other countries. Central and State governments must act quickly to change this situation. Ordinary people will not be able to bear the great economic impact that will soon befall them if the situation continues."
K Krishnasamy further added, "In a country of 130 crore people central government has flawed by allowing only 2 vaccine companies. This is why we are still unable to vaccinate even 10 percent of the population. By giving permission to many more vaccination companies, it will be possible to eliminate the vaccine shortage and vaccinate all the people of the country. In addition, the cost of fixing the vaccine is too high for the private sector to provide, making it impossible for ordinary people to get vaccinated at that cost. The government must create the conditions for the injection. If the price is high, no one will come forward to get vaccinated.
Why is the Tamil Nadu government banning small vegetable shops, including saloon shops, and keeping only Tasmac stores open? Even counting of votes should be postponed to control the infection. Postponing vote counting will not cause any adverse effects. I think the Election Commission of India, which first conducted the election without taking into account the infection, has become corrupt. Give me power for 3 months and I will transform Tamil Nadu into a state without coronavirus. The task before us is to transform India into a coronavirus-free country."
