Shops catch fire at midnight in Udumalaipettai; Fire under control, Police investigating


Tirupur: There are several fish shops operating in the Panchayat-owned area near the Kozhumam-Amaravati river bridge next to Udumalai.

These shops were operating with makeshift cement sheets. These shops reportedly caught fire at midnight.



The fire station at Udumalaipettai was informed and firemen rushed to the spot.



They could douse the fire only after a long struggle. A case has been registered at the Kumaralingam police station and an investigation is underway.
