The Nilgiris: The Nilgiris has the distinction of having vaccinated the most percentage of people in a district in Tamilnadu. The number of Covid-19 cases are on the spike even in the mountain district of Covid-19.
Innocent Divya, District Collector of Nilgiris today in a press meet explained the actions taken to contain Covid-19. She said "Everyone above the age of 45 should get themselves vaccinated. People who are vaccinated with both doses are less likely to get infected. Works are underway to vaccinate people above the age of 18 get vaccinated after May 1st.
The district currently has an adequate supply of oxygen for Covid-19 treatment and arrangements will be made again if oxygen is needed. Arrangements for beds have been made at government hospitals and private schools.
As May 2nd is the vote counting day, people will be allowed to enter the premises only after obtaining a Covid-19 free certificate."
