Police files charges on 6 relatives who were involved in this child marriage
Coimbatore: Chandrasekhar (34) is a labourer who hails from the Anamalai area near Pollachi. He is married and has 2 children. It is said that Chandrasekhar got acquainted with a 16-year-old girl from the same area.
He talked to the girl's parents and did second marriage with the girl. Hearing this, Child Welfare Officer Rani from Pollachi lodged a complaint at the All Women's Police Station who investigated the case.
Chandrasekhar was arrested under the POCSO act and was produced at the Mahila Court. He was later sent to prison.
Six relatives, including the girl's mother, who was complicit in child marriage a case has been filed on them under the Child Marriage Prevention Act and are being investigated.
