Tirupur: A full curfew had been imposed on Sundayalong with a curfew during nights everyday to control the second wave of Covid-19 spread. Since Saturdayis always pay-day in Tirupur, sales at the Tasmac stores are usually high on Saturdays and Sundays.
In this situation, due to the full curfew todayon Sunday, the Banian company workers who had been paid Saturday eveningstormed the Tasmac stores in Tirupur.

This caused huge crowds at all the Tasmac shops with no one maintaining social distancing guidelines. Some even waited in long lines to get the drinks.
Tasmac stores on College Road and Konkanagiri area were seen crowded with workers and people rushed to buy liquor stepping up on the barricades set up earlier.
Public have expressed their concerns that the purpose of the curfew to control the Covid-19 spread was completely affected by this.
