Vegetable commission markets found deserted as Udumalaipet is under complete lockdown tomorrow

This has affected trade worth several lakhs of rupees.


Tirupur: The Daily Vegetable Commission Mandi is functioning at Rajendra Road, Udumalaipet. More than a hundred vegetable commission mandis are functioning here and the vegetables bought from farmers are being sold to various districts in Tamil Nadu and to the neighbouring state of Kerala. Usually, several tons of vegetables are traded here every day.

The public had purchased all vegetables since tomorrow there are restrictions on complete lockdown.



Traders have stopped buying vegetables today as the vegetables bought today cannot be sold tomorrow. This has affected trade worth several lakhs of rupees.

Due to the complete lockdown tomorrow, it is not possible to buy vegetables tomorrow as well.
