Husband hacks wife to death as she had a illicit relationship with a relative and surrenders in Pollachi
Coimbatore: The husband who hacked his wife to death with a scythe for allegedly having illicit relations with a relative near Pollachi has surrendered to the police.
Lakshmanaraja (36), a farmer, is from Thondamuthur in Pollachi South block and his wife Saranya (26) have been married for six years and have a 5-year-old son. They had a dispute over the past two years alleging that Lakshmanaraja's wife and one of his relatives allegedly was having an affair. During the argument this morning, an enraged Lakshmanaraja stabbed Saranya to death with a scythe.
Later, he went to the Kotturpolice station and surrendered.

Upon information Kottur police went to the spot, collected evidence, seized the body and sent it to Kottur Government Hospital for autopsy. A murder case has been registered against Lakshmanaraja and an investigation is underway.
