Vehicles to be allowed into Valparai only after inspection at Aliyar check-post as precautionary measure against COVID-19
Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Government is presently imposing various restrictions to combat the second wave of Covid-19 that is sweeping across the state. In Valparai, till date, 27 people who have been infected with Covid-19 are being treated at the Coimbatore Government Hospital and ESI Hospital.

Following the ban imposed by Coimbatore District Collector Nagarajan, tourists visiting Valparai will be stopped at the Aliyar forest check post. DSP Vivekanandan had instructed Valparai Inspector Maheshwari to inspect the vehicles at the check post along with the Police and Health Department officials.

The officials are inspecting all vehicles at the Aliyar check post, body temperature of people travelling in the vehicles are also checked and wearing of face masks have been made mandatory. It is reported that the officials are also looking to ban tourist movement from other districts.
