Coimbatore: In spite of Health Department officials promising replenishment of vaccines against Covid, a board at the Government Hospital in Mettupalayam reads 'No Vaccine' which has shocked the public.
The Coimbatore district was replenished with Covid vaccine stock earlier this week, but the Government Hospital in Mettupalayam announced that there was no vaccine to inoculate people against the Coronavirus.
Over 150 various treatment facilities including the Government Hospital, Primary Health Centers and private hospitals have been actively administering vaccines to the public. All these facilities reportedly have received more than 45,000 doses of vaccines on Wednesday from Chennai.Hence, public in Mettupalayam are shocked at the Government Hospital's announcement leaving them worried especially since more people are evincing interest in vaccinating themselves owing to the second wave of Covid-19 that is sweeping across the nation.
Sources within the hospital on condition of anonymity reveal that the hospital management has raised the issue to the Government and requested more vaccines to replenish the much needed stock.
