"Public sector companies should be given permission and encouraged to produce Covid vaccine in India:" Tirupur MP K Subbarayan

Tirupur: MP Subbarayan in his address to the media at his office on Uthukuli Road in Tirupur said, "The Indian Prime Minister has acted with disregard to the World Health Organization's warning on Covid spread. With proper medical treatment, the situation would not have peaked thus, in India. Oxygen cylinders have been transported to states like Andhra Pradesh and Telangana without asking the State government. It may have been necessary, but to do so without asking the State government is condemnable."

"At a time when the pandemic is peaking across states, the Central Government has provided very few vaccines to Kerala, almost being vengeful. I have written a letter to the Prime Minister saying that private companies would definitely work for profit in the production of vaccines but the public sector pharmaceutical companies in India should be allowed and encouraged to manufacture Covid vaccines. The Central Government should provide medical equipment such as vaccines and oxygen to all the states of India, irrespective of party affiliation. If Covid infection is confirmed, it is condemnable to ask patients to come to the hospital in their own vehicles. The Government must do everything from arranging ambulances or vehicles to pick up patients and oversee all necessary medical treatment for them," reiterated MP K Subbarayan.
