A help center is also launched to help COVID-19 affected people and for other services.
Coimbatore: As COVID-19 infections rise, BJP national women's wing leader Vanathi Srinivasan in Coimbatore launched the Coronavirus Awareness Vehicle Service to provide free pick up for people to the vaccination centre and to create awareness about vaccination.
Vanathi Srinivasan said, "The BJP government will effectively control the second wave just as it handled the first wave effectively and saved the people from danger. BJP volunteers are helping people in the field and, groups have been set up to provide medical assistance. Also, we are ready to do all kinds of services that people need. India is on par with other superpowers in actively developing and producing vaccines to control the disease. We are launching a free vaccination vehicle service and Coronavirus Awareness Vehicle service from today to educate people on the need for vaccination. People should take advantage of this free service."
She added, "When you contact our Help Center, which is specially set up for this purpose, to get vaccinated we will take interested persons to government hospitals for vaccination and will drop them at their house. Also, if people with coronavirus infection contact our help center we will buy the medicines they need. We have formed a team headed by BJP district president R. Nandakumar."
Vanathi also spoke to the press about the oxygen supply. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday spoke about the shortage of oxygen cylinders. Arrangements have been made to supply oxygen cylinders immediately wherever there is a shortage. The shortage will be averted as more new companies are allowed to produce oxygen. There is such a notion that over-exporting is the cause of the domestic vaccine shortage and that is completely wrong. Action will be taken soon to vaccinate everyone," she added.
