Deceased Coimbatore District Fire Officer, Krishnamoorthy's family granted financial assistance by police officials
Coimbatore: In a joint effort, the police and Fire and Rescue Department raised funds to provide financial assistance to the family of a deceased firefighter who lost his life while running at a practice session with other Fire and Rescue Department officials.
The Coimbatore District Fire Officer, Krishnamoorthy suffered a heart attack while running along with other newly appointed officers to motivate them. In appreciation of his sense of duty, the Director of Department of Fire and Rescue Services, Dr C Sylendra Babu along with the efforts of the 2001 Fire and Rescue batch and other senior officials raised funds to the tune of Rs. 20 lakhs.
The amount was handed over to the family of late Officer Krishnamoorthy by Sahul Ameedh Additional Director (Administration) at a function held at the office of the Associate Director, Coimbatore today.
