Corporation Commissioner inspects MGR Market premises in Coimbatore with regard to relocation of the Onion Market and Wholesale Vegetable Market
Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner, P Kumaravel Pandian inspected the MGR Market premises in Coimbatore with regard to relocation of the Onion Market and Wholesale Vegetable Market that was operational on Mettupalayam Road in Coimbatore.
The Coimbatore Corporation has been beefing up various preventive measures across the city to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections. Following this, the MGR market operating on Mettupalayam Road in the West Zone of Coimbatore Corporation had been temporarily shifted to prevent congestion and avoid the spread of COVID-19 infections. The Corporation Commissioner had inspected the area opposite the bus stand on Mettupalayam Road and the Kavundampalayam Eru Company in order to temporarily relocate the Onion Market.
Later, a vacant lot in the Kavundampalayam Eru Company premises was chosen for the Onion Market to be relocated on. The Corporation Commissioner requested the Onion Market traders to move to the new location immediately and avoid congestion. City Engineer A Lakshmanan, West Zone Assistant Commissioner Sundararajan, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Annathurai, Executive Engineer Saravanakumar and Corporation officials were present during the inspection.
