These farmlands are involved in the high power towers issue in High Court and the farmers are awaiting judgement.
Coimbatore: In the areas including Dharapuram and Palladam in Tirupur district, a private company is continuing the survey work for setting up high power towers on agricultural lands in collaboration with the Revenue Department.
The case filed by the farmers against the Highways Department asking to take over the roadside to bury cables without erecting a high power tower on the agricultural lands is pending an appeal in the High Court. But the Revenue Department, with the help of the police, is carrying out the work of surveying the agricultural lands.

The farmers say that this process cannot be allowed as the verdict from the High Court has not been issued yet. So, the Farmers' union executives protested in front of the District Collector's office to condemn this.
They also demanded the release of Sivakumar and Dhanapal, who were involved in protests against the issue.
