The shopkeeper, as usual, last night, locked the shop and stayed at a nearby house. Then at midnight he heard something and came out and was shocked to see people in two-wheelers in front of the shop trying to break the lock of the shop and steal. Following this, two escaped and one was caught when they went there and tried to catch those standing in front of the shop.

Udumalai police were informed about the incident. Their investigation later revealed that the arrested person was identified as Jesudas, 20, from Vayalur near Palani in Dindigul district. The arrested man was produced in court and remanded in custody.
Police are on the lookout for the remaining two suspects.
