TN Highways Dept. begins widening of Pollachi-Valparai main road
Coimbatore: The oft-travelled road from Pollachi to Valparai in Coimbatore district which is part of the Tamil Nadu Highways Department is a steep narrow road with 40 hairpin bends.
Since Valparai is a much sought-after tourist destination with thousands of vehicles using the road, the Tamil Nadu Highways Department has begun widening the roads. Work is underway on Pollachi Road in the Ayyarpadi tea estate area along with the construction of the parapet wall to fortify the steep roads.
