Coimbatore airport functions only till 11 pm and resumes at 4 am; Night curfew and Sunday lockdown will not impact us: Airport sources Reccent
Coimbatore: With night curfew being implemented throughout Tamil Nadu from April 20 to curb the second wave of COVID-19, bus travel has been clamped from 10 pm to 4 am though rail and air transport will continue to operate.
Sources at the Coimbatore airport stated that "Flights here normally operate only till 11 pm and resume from 4 am onwards, even before the COVID-19 pandemic began. Air traffic has been severely affected due to the current lockdown in various cities, including Mumbai and Delhi.
So, there are no flights departure or arrival daily after 9 pm from other cities. Early morning flights to Sharjah are also operated five days a week by Air Arabia. The plane lands at 4 am and departs immediately within half an hour. Therefore, the current night curfew and Sunday lockdown announced by the Tamil Nadu government will not have any impact on Coimbatore airport."
