ENT post-graduate student of CMCH is lauded by doctors and public for saving the life of a 14-year old.
Coimbatore: Police official Kalaiselvi who works at the Ramanathapuram police station in Coimbatore is the mother of a 14-year old son, Kishore who is in Class 7.
Kishore enjoys playing online games that are gun-based and has been pestering his mom for a toy gun. Kalaiselvi finally relented and bought Kishore a toy gun. At around 11 am on Monday, Kishore shot himself on his head with the toy gun in a game of pretense.
The bullets in the toy gun reportedly got stuck in Kishore's ear and he had to be rushed to a private doctor for treatment. Since the doctors said that they could not remove the bullet even if he had to be operated upon.
Kishore was rushed to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital where a post-graduate ENT student Nithya with quick thinking decided to remove the bullet without surgery, after a thorough discussion with other doctors. She successfully removed the bullet stuck inside Kishore's ear by tactically flushing it out with water.
Kishore's parents were relieved but were advised by the doctors not to buy such toys that could have proved fatal.
