Couple commit suicide by jumping in front of a train early this morningin Coimbatore
Coimbatore: In Coimbatore, a couple committed suicide by jumping in front of a train at 3 am today. Their bodies lay in the tracks in a mangled state.
Police said the Island Express was heading towards Coimbatore at around 3 am today. The couple jumped in front of the train when it was approaching the Irugur area and in the blink of an eye their bodies scattered in pieces.
Both died on the spot and the public who went for a walk in the area around 4:30 todaywere shocked to see this and informed the Coimbatore Railway Police. Railway police immediately rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies and sent them to Coimbatore Government Hospital for autopsy.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the two were lovers. Police are continuing to investigate the name of the village from which they belong and why they came to Coimbatore. The incident has caused a stir and saddened everyone in the area.
