Hindu Makkal Katchi condemned denying permission to pay homage to the Dr. Ambedkar statue
Coimbatore: Chennai Metropolitan Administrators Kannan and Saravanan Chandran, led by Hindu Makkal Katchi Chennai District Administrators General Secretary Bharatmata Senthil, visited the Ambedkar ManiMandapam on April 14 to pay homage to the Ambedkar statue on the eve of Ambedkar's birthday.

Speaking in Coimbatore today, Hindu Makkal Katchi leader Arjun Sampath alleged that members of the then-existing Dravida Kazhagam, Vidutahlai Siruthaigal, Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam and others attacked the Hindu Makkal katchi for wearing garlands to the Ambedkar statue.
Also, a similar incident took place on December 6, last year when they went to the Dr. Ambedkar Mani Mandapam to pay homage to his statue on the eve of his Memorial Day. They said since Ambedkar is the leader of all, they too have the right to pay homage to Dr. Ambedkar said such organizations were involved in highlighting Dr. Ambedkar caste.
He said appropriate action should be taken against organizations like VCK, Dravida Kazhagam and Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam which continue to attack the Hindu Makkal Katchi. He also accused the police of acting in a partisan without taking proper action.
