Tirupur: Tamil Nadu Hire Goods Owners Association petitioned at the District Collectorate accompanied by a music band, seeking relief from COVID-19 restrictions for public events like weddings since their livelihoods are at stake.
"The Government of Tamil Nadu has imposed stringent restrictions to prevent COVID-19 infections from spreading rapidly across the state. The shops for renting utensils, sound and light organizers and event decoration providers under our system were severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic's impact.
Public functions including weddings were conducted in a simple manner, due to lockdown restrictions that were implemented last year," lamented Association members.
