Here’s the list of TN govt imposed restrictions that come into effect from 20th April 2021
Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu government has issued new restrictions to control the raging second wave of Covid-19. The following restrictions will come into force from the morning of 20th April 2021. These decisions were taken at review meeting chaired by CM Edappadi Palaniswami.
- Night curfew from 10 pm to 4 am. Cabs, autos and private vehicles must not ply.
- No vehicles to be allowed to enter TN during night curfew
- Vehicles (buses) plying inter-state must ensure masking, temperature checks of passengers, social distancing norms
- Emergency travel at night time to hospitals/railway stations etc will be allowed. Emergency services & essential goods will be allowed to ply.
- Petrol/diesel pumps can remain open.
- Essential goods manufacturers & continuous process industries will be allowed to work even at night
- Private security guards must be given an ID card or letter by the company in order to work
- *Complete lockdown on all Sundays* - fish markets, grocery shops, cinema theatres to remain closed on Sundays.
- Other essential items such as milk, newspapers, pharmacies & health services may remain open on Sundays
- On Sundays, hotels can provide parcel service from 6am to 10am; 12 noon to 3pm and 6pm to 9pm only. Swiggy/Zomato & other delivery service providers may function on Sundays. Other e-commerce firms are not allowed to function on Sundays.
- Weddings can have no more than 100 participants, funerals can have no more than 50 people. All SOPs to be strictly followed.
- All tourist spots in Nilgiris, Kodaikanal, Yercaud etc will be closed on all days.
- Public is not allowed at any beach across TN
- Parks & other public spaces are closed to the public across TN until further notice
- IT firms to take steps to ensure at least 50% of staff work from home
- All shopping malls, showrooms etc can remain open only till 9pm on all days except Sundays
- No more than 50 persons can participate in religious festivals and only with prior permission from government
- Govt requests that all religious functions in the future may be postponed
- Std 12 final exams postponed; practicals alone will be conducted as announced
- College/university professors to take classes online from their homes
- Private and govt college exams to be conducted only online
- All coaching classes (private and govt) to be conducted only online
- Summer camps will not be allowed
- Other than Sundays, cinema theatres can function with 50% capacity, must follow all SOPs
- Cafes, tea shops & restaurants to allow only 50% capacity
- TN to give immediate permissions to companies that come forward to manufacture & supply medical oxygen
