Works to spray medicines in tea estates intensified in Valparai

Coimbatore: Tea is cultivated in an area of about 50,000 acres in Valparai, Coimbatore district. It has been raining in Valparai for the last few days and skies continue to be cloudy. Due to this, mosquitoes and insects breed in tea plants and these pests greatly affect the growth of tea leaves.

Due to this, the tea plantation administrations are actively involved in the application of pesticides and mosquito repellents with help of modern machinery. Workers are working in three shifts from early morning to late evening which has helped increase their income.
