Coimbatore: Stanley Mathew, 37, is a manager at a Jewellery shop on Crosscut Road, Coimbatore and Babu Rajan, a resident of Vijay Nagar, Kalveerampalayam, has been working as a driver for the past two years.
Babu Rajan was recently promoted to being the cashier for the store. On becoming the cashier, it was revealed that a certain amount of cash was continuously missing every time from his desk. In this case, the money from Babu Rajan's account was less than the money sold at the jewelry store.
Manager Stanley Mathew noticed this and oversaw Babu Rajan. It was then revealed that he had stolen the money. When asked about this, Babu Rajan contradicted himself and then revealed that a total of Rs 51,450 has been stolen.
This incident was reported to the Kattoor police station and investigation is underway.
