Drill on dousing forest fires held for forest officials in Valparai
Coimbatore: Valparai in Coimbatore district of late has become known for its inherent risk of forest fires. Forest officials have warned commuters and the public not to carry flammable materials with them when they pass through the forest regions.
The Valparai Fire Department also provided training to Forest Department officials on how to extinguish wildfires.
The drill was held in the woods of Thaimudi Estate area and was conducted by the Forest Department in collaboration with the Fire Department.
