As the second phase of Covid-19 virus spread is increasing, various preventive measures and vaccination festivals are undertaken. Fearing that the restrictions would be tightened and a lockdown will be imposed, workers in the North of Coimbatore are prepared to return to their hometowns.
Business organizations and manufacturers including SIDCO in Coimbatore, which will be affected by this second wave have consulted with the district administration. The district administration decided to hold a vaccination camp for the workers to ensure their safety. As part of this, the Covid-19 vaccination camp for workers in the Coimbatore SIDCO industrial area started yesterday.
233 people were vaccinated on the first day of the camp, which happened by the collaboration with the CIDCO Business Center, the District Business Center and the Corporation administration.
As of today, only 300 people have been vaccinated due to the shortage of Covid-19 vaccine, which is scheduled to be given to the first 500 people.
It has also been reported that employees working in small factories can register with the owner and get vaccinated through the association.
