Coimbatore: After the 2021 TN Elections, various party candidates are on surveillance duty at the Government College of Technology (GCT) premises in Coimbatore where ballot machines are stored.
Due to the sudden rains yesterday, the room which was used by the agents was flooding with rainwater. The roof was also damaged. Hence, DMK Singanallur constituency candidate N Karthik has requested District Collector and Election Officer S Nagarajan to fix it immediately and provide them with a replacement.
According to a press release issued by N Karthik, "Party members are engaged in 24-hour surveillance of the EVM's from the 10 assembly constituencies in Coimbatore. They stay in a room set up near GCT. In this situation, during the heavy rain last night, rainwater flowed from the roofs set up in the room where the agents were sitting and rainwater seeped into the room, making it impossible for the agents to even sit."
N Karthik, therefore, requested the District Collector / Election Officer to take immediate action to prevent rainwater leakage in the room where the agents are put up.
