Coimbatore:An amount of Rs 41,800 was imposed on people who did not wear a mask and did not abide by the Covid-19 protocols in the Coimbatore Corporation area. The action was taken on behalf of the Health Department to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore City Corporation has been making continuous efforts to help prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Hence, the officials are identifying individuals, companies, buses, shops, businesses and shopping malls who do not comply with the guidelines and are fined.
In a survey conducted by the authorities from 5 zones of the city corporation, it was revealed that around 209 persons did not wear masks and they were fined a total of Rs 41,800. The violators each had to pay Rs 200.
In addition, the shops which violate the Covid-19 rules were fined for Rs 16,000.
