Coimbatore: Coimbatore RS Puram police received a tip-off that prostitution was taking place in an apartment in the RR Lay Out area.
Police went in plain clothes and engaged in a search. They found that prostitution was taking place in a room. Following this, the police arrested Gul Bahadur Rana, 34, of Assam, a prostitution broker from there.
During interrogation, he confessed that he had brought women from different states along with his friend Kumar and engaged in prostitution in the apartment here.
The police then registered a case against him and arrested him. He was later produced in court and remanded in custody. They also confiscated 4 cell phones and Rs 1,630 in cash from him.
The police also rescued a 25-year-old and a 24-year-old woman from Delhi and a 20-year-old woman from Mumbai. They are searching forKumar, a friend of Bahadur Rana who is also involved in the case.
