Coimbatore: Indian Texpreneurs Federation (ITF) has released tutorial videos to train workers at spinning sector.
Indian Texpreneurs Federation (ITF) Coimbatore's Convenor Prabhu Damodaran in a press release said, "ITF has released the Second Tutorial video for Worker Training in Spinning Mills. This effort is in line with our strategy of a Digital Training Model.'
"A ‘Digital’ effort to professionally train our workers. With attrition level moving to 30% plus, new worker training is a routine affair in spinning mills. In ITF’s 15 Minute videos of worker job roles, experienced workers along with the guidance of an expert team, practically demonstrate how to perform a particular task including the best practices & safety tips to be followed on the shop floor," he said.
Prabhu Damodaran also said, "The second tutorial video released by ITF is for the role of a Spinning Doffer, into a step by step communication of the process that is practically demonstrated from the shop floor and recorded as a multimedia video."
The video is released in three languages - English, Tamil and Hindi.

Convenor also said, "Whenever a new worker is recruited by a mill, the said video is shown to the worker in an exclusive classroom repeatedly for a few days. This ensures that the prerequisites and basic information are well understood by the worker before he is inducted into hands-on training with actual machinery."
It is to utilise the power of visual media, which that repeats can help the new workers to ingrain the methodology of even complex manufacturing processes; as well as the various compliances to be followed, even before entering the shop floor. "Existing workers also watch these tutorial videos once every month to refresh their memory regarding various work practices," he also said.
The said videos are also uploaded on YouTube for the benefit of mills across India, in line with ITF's primary objective of serving the industry.
"ITF will be releasing a series of such tutorial videos that will cover a range of departments in spinning mills and a variety of job roles," the press release stated.
