The officials say that passengers using the airport must have the PCR test results taken within 72 hours.
Coimbatore: The TN State government has imposed various restrictions as the spread of the Covid-19 continues to increase. Coimbatore International Airport currently offers more domestic service. In the overseas segment, only Sharjah is being operated.
Most of the passengers are very confused as they have not been given proper information about COVID-19 travel guidelines implemented at the Coimbatore International Airport.
Sources from Airport said, "Airport Authority only maintains Airports and Flight operations. All activities including prevention of infection and monitoring are being carried out on behalf of the State Health Department. Passengers are confused as to the lack of proper communication."
They also said, "Passengers using the airport must have the PCR test results taken within 72 hours. Apart from this, passengers travelling in the domestic aviation sector must have an 'e-pass. After landing in Coimbatore, a PCR test will be conducted again. If any symptoms appear, immediate action will be taken on behalf of the health department."
The sources also informed that if the symptoms are severe, the passenger will be taken to the hospital immediately. "Body temperature of passengers will be checked at the airport. They can continue their journey without any hindrance on having all mandatory documents and if there are no symptoms and by passing the test successfully," the sources added.
