A 49-year-old man passed away today due to Covid-19 infection.
Coimbatore: The Health department officials in a statement said that about 28 people were infected with Covid-19 virus today in Pollachi.
Areas that come under the municipality like Kandhasami street, Azhagapuri street, Udumalai Road, Shri MKN Clove, Kattunaiket street, Sellakumae street, MGM Nagar, T.Kotammpatti and other such areas had 1 people infected from each area.
Further, in Pollachi North, 1 person from both Aachipatti and Rampattanam were infected with Covid-19. A total of 2 cases in Chandrapuram, 3 in Aaval Chinnampalayam of Pollachi South were recorded.
The areas of Samathur, Nanjekavundanpudur, Kedimedu recorded 1 Covid-19 case each. Oonjvelampatti reported 2 cases, Makinampatti recorded 4 cases and Chinnampalayam had 3 cases in one day.
In total, there are 28 new cases in Pollachi in a single day. It was also reported that a 49-year-old man who was admitted at a private hospital for Covid-19 treatment passed away today failing to respond to treatment.
The second wave of Covid-19 is spreading far and wide in Tamil Nadu. Pollachi recorded 25 cases yesterday and 51 cases on April 12th.
