Coimbatore: Sharmila (26) is from Karpadi near Negmam in Pollachi. She is married toAyyaneshwaran for 3 years. Ayyaneshwaran is an employee at a private concern in Kanchipuram.
Sharmila lived with her husband in Kanchipuram and she visited her parents' house in Karpadi 3 months back. Ayyaneshwaran usually visits them on weekends.
Meanwhile, Sharmila is said to have been depressed as she was not able to get pregnant since marriage. Out of guilt, she then committed suicide. She hung herself from the ceiling with her dupatta.
Negmam police officials were informed about this suicide death. Negmam Inspector Vetrivelrajan arrived immediately at the scene to recover the body under the orders of Pollachi DSP Sivakumar.
The body was sent to Pollachi Government Hospital for autopsy and a case was registered regarding this incident. The death of a married woman who killed herself over being unable to get pregnant has created a stir in the locality.
