Coimbatore: On the first day of 'Chithirai,' people all over Tamil Nadu celebrate Tamil New Year by paying obesiance to their gods at various temples.

A special pooja was held on the occasion of Tamil New Year at Sivaloganathar Sivaloganayaki Temple on Kinathukadavu Road in Coimbatore.

Early this morning, the devotees performed abhishekam and pooja for Sivaloganathar and Sivaloganayaki goddess with special decorations adorning the deities.

People from Kinnathukadavu and surrounding areas arrived at the temple this morning wearing face masks, adhering to the strict rules of the Tamil Nadu government to prevent the spread of Coronavirus infections.
