City industrialists lead the way in getting vaccinated against Covid-19; Over 10,000 workers vaccinated in the past week with Government making it compulsory for those above 45 to be vaccinated due to the rise in COVID-19 cases.
Coimbatore: The Government has made it compulsory for people over the age of 45 to be vaccinated due to the rise in COVID-19 cases. It has also urged companies with over 100 employees to ensure that employees above the age of 45 are vaccinated.
In the industrial city of Coimbatore, industrialists volunteered to get themselves vaccinated and have also agreed to give provide their employees permission during work hours, transportation facilities, food and other needs that facilitate them to get vaccinated. Certain companies have also signed up for special camps at their premises due to which thousands of employees have been vaccinated thus far.
ELGI Ultra Limited Industries HR personnel Senthilkumar and Murugesan stated, "The Government is making various efforts to control the spread of COVID-19. As part of this, in Coimbatore district, businesses are advised to vaccinate employees over the age of 45 in order to continue working without risks.
Hence, steps are being taken to vaccinate workers over the age of 45 working in companies that employ over 100 workers. More than 60 workers have been vaccinated at our company, today alone. It is the duty of all to follow Government guidelines properly. We have to realize this and take action," they reiterated.
