Arakkonam double murder of two Dalit youth point to political motive; VCK and other unions protest against the murders
Coimbatore: In spite of police officials attributing the Arakkonam double murder as a fallout of a clash between the Dailt and Vanniyar communities, members of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) allege that there were political motives and blame the PMK for the murders.
Tension continues to prevail at Shoghanur village whilst a protest was staged near the Periyar statue in Puliyakulam, Coimbatore on behalf of the Marxist Communist Party, the Tamil Nadu Untouchability Abolition Front, All India Democratic Women's Union, Indian Democratic Youth Union and Indian Students Union, demanding justice for the massacre of the two Dalit youth.
UK Sivagnanam, Deputy General Secretary of the Abolition of Untouchability Front, Aruchamy, District Secretary and Attorney, Stalin Kumar, President of the Youth Union, K S Kanagaraj, Secretary, Dinesh Raja, District Secretary, CPI East Coimbatore member Kareem, T Nagaraj and many others participated in the protest and expressed their dissent against the massacre.
