Three bakeries in the city sealed for not adhering to Coronavirus preventive measures
Coimbatore: Corporation officials sealed three bakeries that are located in the Coimbatore Race Course area for serving customers without adhering to Coronavirus preventive measures.
Since no social distancing was adhered to in all three bakeries, Commissioner Kumaravel Pandian who inspected the Race Course area imposed a fine of Rs. 5,000 on each bakery and were sealed on Monday. The Coimbatore Corporation officials and the Health Department discovered that the bakeries were seating more than 50 percent customers in violation of stipulated Government norms that had been announced to prevent the spread of Coronavirus infections in the city.
The Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioner continually inspect and impose fines in the city on those who have been violating Government regulations. On Monday, 442 stores were inspected and 86 irregularities were found with a total of Rs. 27,200 fined on such establishments. 266 individuals who did not wear face masks in public places have been fined with Rs. 200 each, totalling to Rs. 53,200.
