Various types of flowers, fruits and vegetables were flown to Sharjah ahead of Vishu festival
Coimbatore: Vishu festival is to be celebrated tomorrow and large quantities of flowers, fruits and vegetables have been flown on an Air Arabia flight from Coimbatore to Sharjah for the benefit of expatriate Keralites.
Airport sources said, "Air Arabia operates flights from Coimbatore to Sharjah five days a week. In the last five days alone, 15 tonnes of flowers, fruits and vegetables were flown to Sharjah ahead of the Vishu festival. The aircraft usually carries engineering products other than vegetables.
But at present only flowers, fruits and vegetables have been exported in large quantities in the last 5 days due to Vishu festival."
