Soganur double murder: Odukkapattor Vazhvurimai Iyakkam protests in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: The Arakkonam Soghanur double murder case which was due to a clash between Dalits and Vanniyars in Guruvarajanpettai near Arakkonam has caused a stir in Tamil Nadu political circles.
A protest is now being staged in front of the Coimbatore Tahsildhar's Office on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Odukkattor Vazhvirimai Iyakkam, AISF, AIYF condemning the killing of the two Dalit youth in Shoganur.
The protesters main demand is to provide proper protection and compensation for the youth who were injured in the attack by caste fanatics and justice be granted to the bereaved families of Arjunan (26) and Suriya (26) who were killed.
They also demanded that a case be registered against Palani, the sand smuggler who instigated the murder of the two youth.
