Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and 3 other states faced 2021 general assembly elections recently. Unfortunately, just a few days after the elections, Congress candidate PSW Madhava Rao passed away today due to COVID-19 complications.
Srivilliputhur constituency candidate PSW Madhava Rao tested positive for COVID-19 last month and was under treatment ever since.
The Srivilliputhur constituency will face a by-election if Madhava Rao wins from the constituency as he has deceased after the elections.
All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretary who is in charge of Tamilnadu and Puducherry tweeted, "Deeply pained to learn about the sad demise of INC Tamilnadu Leader and Srivilliputhur Assembly Congress candidate Shri MadhavaRao, due to Covid complications. Our heartfelt condolences to his family. We stand with them in this hour of grief and pray may his soul rest in peace," he said.
Many other political leaders and members from the Congress party have expressed grief over his death.
