Coimbatore: The boathouse is functioning near the Stan Moore road in Valparai, Coimbatore, in an effort to increase the tourist attraction in the area.
Now, the drainage water from Kamaraj Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Kakkan Colony and Children's park area mixes in the water near the Kamaraj Nagar, Stan Moore road and goes to Sholayar Dam.
With the Boat House built in the area, it blocks the river which creates a difficult situation. All the waste and drainage in the water is being dumped in the boathouse.
Due to this, the drainage block can be seen till the Children's Park area, causing a pungent smell and is also a breeding ground for further health hazards.
