Despite strict measures imposed for COVID-19 by the Tamil Nadu government, the daily caseload in Coimbatore continue to rise
Coimbatore: The daily caseload of people testing for COVID-19 in Coimbatore continues to increase, with 501 new cases reported on Saturday, taking the overall tally to 62,575 people.
The Health Department reported zero death today in Coimbatore, while the overall death toll in the district as of today stands at 699.
Of the 62,575 cases, as many as 58,199 of them are discharged while 3677 patients are under the active cases list. On Saturday, 217 patients were discharged in Coimbatore.
So far, the district administration has catered to over 2,34,933 people against COVID-19.
Following strict measures, the corporation officials and health department have warned of action against shops and organizations if found flouting the guidelines issued by the government.
The corporation department has also taken steps to begin mobile vaccination from April 11th to stop the spread and achieve stability in the COVID-19 rise.
At present, the Coimbatore district has the capacity to accommodate 4,827 patients.
