Corporation Deputy Commissioner inspects COVID-19 prevention activities in theatres and various areas in Thudiyalur and parts of Coimbatore North zone.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Corporation Deputy Commissioner S. Madhuranthagi today inspected for COVID-19 Prevention Measures at a private cinema theatre and the RS Puram Uzhavar Sandhai operating in the North Zone, Thudiyalur. She then imposed a fine of Rs 200 each on 27 persons who did not wear masks at the Uzhavar Sandhai.

Later, in a private theatre operating in Thudiyalur, she inspected if the public wore masks and adhered to the social distancing. She visited and inspected if the COVID-19 vaccine being given to the public at the Urban Primary Health Center operating in Thudiyalur.

The Corporation Deputy Commissioner also checked if customers at the private mall operating on Sathy Road were wearing masks and following social distancing and if body temperature was being checked. She went to the theatre operating in the mall and inspected whether the public was wearing masks and adhering to the social distancing.
Officer Dr Raja, North Zone Assistant Commissioner Mahesh Kanagaraj, Zonal Health Officer Ramachandran and Corporation officials were present during the inspection.
The Tamil Nadu government has imposed strict restrictions across the state to curb the COVID-19 spread, which has come to effect from today. The inspections are conducted to see if the restrictions are being implemented.
