4 buses in Coimbatore were fined Rs.500 each for allowing standing passengers and for violating the COVID-19 restrictions by TN Government.


Coimbatore: The Commissioner and Special Officer P. Kumaravel Pandian inspected the Coronavirus Prevention Measures at Bus Stands in Gandhipuram, Coimbatore. 4 buses in Coimbatore were fined Rs.500 each for allowing standing passengers and for violating the COVID-19 restrictions by TN Government.

The Coimbatore Corporation is actively pursuing various preventive measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.

Following this, the Coimbatore Corporation inspected the coronation prevention activities at the Gandhipuram bus stands today. A fine of Rs 200 each was imposed on 15 persons for not wearing face masks at bus stands. He imposed a fine of Rs.500 each on 4 buses for allowing passengers to travel standing in the buses.



Later, restaurants and bakeries operating in the area were inspected to see if people were wearing face masks. A private restaurant operating in the area was fined Rs 1,000 as people were not wearing face masks.

The Corporation Commissioner said, "The public must wear a face mask when going out, in public places, wash their hands frequently with soap and, if there are any signs of infection, immediately approach the nearest government hospital without delay. The public should co-operate fully with the government's efforts to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection."

Executive Engineer Ravichandran, Assistant Engineer Karuppusamy, Zonal Health Officer Radhakrishnan and Corporation officials were present during the inspection.
