Viduthalai Siruthaigal protest in ATC stadium in Ooty to condemn the murder of two youths in Arakkonam
The Nilgiris: A protest on behalf of the Viduthalai Siruthaigal in the Nilgiris district was held at the Ooty ATC Stadium, as a condemnation of the murder that happened in Arakkonam.
This protest is held to urge police in taking action against those involved in the murder of two Viduthalai Siruthaigal Katchi voters and the assault of 3 supporters of the party.
It was reported that on April 7, unidentified persons carried out an attack on 5 people who had campaigned for the Viduthalai Siruthaigal candidate in the Arakkonam assembly constituency during elections. Of these, three of the party supporters are receiving intensive care at the hospital while two others were brutally beaten to death.
Today, the protest was held in Ooty to strongly condemn the incident by the Viduthalai Siruthaigal District Secretary Sahadevan.
The protesters called for immediate action under the Prevention of Torture Act against those who carried out racially motivated murders, as well as for those who set fire to huts.
