Protest in Coimbatore to condemn Arakkonam - Soganur incident held today by Viduthalai Siruthaigal Katchi members
Coimbatore: Two friends were beaten to death in Arakkonam on April 7. Arjunan (20), from Soganur Colony near Arakkonam and Surya (25) from Chembedu Colony were found brutally beaten to death by a gang of 10 in the Gautama Nagar area on the night of April 7.
Viduthalai Siruthaigal leader Thol Thirumavalavan took this to his Twitter page and informed that the youths had been attacked by PMK casteists in Arakkonam. He asked if it was a crime to campaign for 'pot symbol.' Thol Thirumavalavan also said, "The casteists and sand thieves who committed these massacres should be arrested immediately and imprisoned under the Goondas Act."
Condemning the incident, he had announced that there would be protests by the Viduthalai Siruthaigal party on April 10 in districts across Tamil Nadu.
As a part of this, Viduthalai Siruthaigal members today staged a protest in front of the Coimbatore district Tahsildar Office to condemn the Soganur incident.
