Coimbatore CBI court sentences ESI cashier to 4 years in jail for embezzling labour money.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore CBI court has sentenced an ESI cashier to four years in jail for money embezzling 11 lakh rupees, that belonged to the labourers. Krishnamohan, 45, a cashier from ESI Bangalore, worked as a cashier at the Labourers' Government Insurance Corporation in Hosur, Krishnagiri district.
When the authorities audited the amount sent to the beneficiaries from 2012-2015, it was found that Krishnamohan had swindled 11 lakh rupees.
Krishnamohan has been involved in fraud for paying the amount allotted to the beneficiaries, into the bank account of his mother. Krishnamohan was booked by the CBI on a complaint by the authorities and a case was registered.
Coimbatore CBI registered a case against Krishnamohan in a special court on August 25, 2017, and is under investigation. Judge Nagarajan sentenced Krishnamohan to four years in jail and fined him Rs 90,000.
